A perfectly fine and ordinary RPG and a great improvement on it's predecessor.
The graphics are fine, the music is fine even the sound effects are fine. The whole game is nothing special but equally there's nothing wrong with it.
Everything is as you would expect from a Japanese RPG and as such it is a real breeze to play without any Japanese knowledge. The plot is very linear and seems to just lead you (as Luffy) from one set piece to the next.
The battles are just as typical, few surprises. They're turn based with you choosing your actions from a list of 'Attack', 'Special Attack', 'Signature Attack' and item. As you would expect the more powerful moves use up SP. The thing of note is that the character's posture changes depending on their HP levels, notably tiring as it decreases.
As you will have gathered there is little to differentiate this from the dozens of other enjoyable average anime RPGs. Not worth hunting down but an enjoyable diversion if you chance upon it. |
